Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Standards required for both groups: 1. Age 18-45 years, at least 6 years of education (elementary school or above); 2. Right-handed, Han nationality; 3. No gastrointestinal diseases such as diarrhea in the past three months, and no use of antibiotics; 4. No contraindications for magnetic resonance imaging; 5. Signed informed consent form;MDD inclusion criteria: 1. Meet the diagnostic criteria for depression according to the fifth edition of the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) and SCID structured interviews; 2. First episode, duration = 17; 4. Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS) score <= 5 points; 5;Control group inclusion criteria: 1. No history of mental illness, does not meet the diagnostic criteria for any mental illness according to DSM-5; 2. No family history of mental illness.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Meeting DSM-5 Axis I diagnostic criteria for other psychiatric disorders. 2.Presence of severe or unstable physical illnesses, including confirmed diabetes, thyroid disorders, hypertension, or heart disease. 3.History of epilepsy, febrile seizures, or head trauma with loss of consciousness lasting more than 5 minutes. 4.Pregnant or breastfeeding women. 5.Inability to cooperate with cognitive assessments.
