Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age >= 18 years; 2.Receiving invasive mechanical ventilation for >= 12 hours; 3.Patients diagnosed with dyspnea according to the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) criteria.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale (RASS) > +2; 2.Severe hypoxemia with PaO2/FiO2 ratio < 150 mmHg; 3.Brain injury of any cause with Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) < 9; 4.Pre-existing severe cognitive impairment or severe psychiatric disorder.
