Conditions

Patients with high-risk lupus, early-stage lupus, SLE with definite diagnosis but without lupus nephritis, patients with lupus nephritis (LN, including different subtypes), and patients receiving belimumab treatment. Meanwhile, patients with RA or pSS were as controls.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.SLE: Must meet either the 1997 ACR or 2019 EULAR/ACR classification criteria for systemic lupus erythematosus. High-risk lupus: First-degree relatives of SLE patients who are currently asymptomatic and test negative for all autoantibodies. Early lupus: Subjects with clinical symptoms/signs suggestive of SLE but not fulfilling the classification criteria. Disease controls: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients meeting the 1997 ACR classification criteria for RA. Primary Sjögren’s syndrome (pSS) patients fulfilling the 2012 SLICC classification criteria for pSS.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Age <18 years. Comorbid severe systemic diseases (e.g., active infections, cardiovascular, pulmonary, hepatic, or other major organ dysfunction).
