Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. All participants underwent standardized medical history taking, clinical examination, and auxiliary imaging examinations including CBCT and MRI. All TMD patients met the DC/TMD diagnostic criteria and were diagnosed with Class I painful TMD, which may specifically include: (a) Class I painful TMD alone, or (b) Class I painful TMD combined with irreducible disc displacement without limited mouth opening and/or degenerative joint disease. 2. Aged 18 years or older. 3. Patients reporting joint or muscle pain during maximum mouth opening (Numerical Rating Scale [NRS] >= 3), with chronic pain duration of at least 3 months. 4. Possess adequate literacy to understand study materials. 5. Provided written informed consent. 6. DASS-21 subscale scores must not exceed the following thresholds: Depression (D) <= 27, Anxiety (A) <= 19, Stress (S) <= 33.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Presence of purulent TMJ arthritis, trauma, tumors, or systemic joint diseases; 2. Presence of severe mental illness (e.g., severe anxiety disorder, severe depressive disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder); 3. Received CBT treatment within 1 year; 4. Currently taking antidepressants / anti-anxiety drugs / analgesics.
