Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged between 18 and 25 years. 2. At least two years of formal training experience in basketball or rugby. 3. Able to independently perform cutting and crosscutting maneuvers. 4. Classified at the international elite athlete level. 5. In good physical health, with no history of major illness or long-term conditions affecting athletic performance. 6. Able to adhere to the prescribed training program during the study period and attend all scheduled assessments and training sessions. 7. No vision-related or cutting/crosscutting speed–specific training interventions received within the past three months.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Sustained severe lower-limb or other injuries affecting basketball or rugby training within the past three months (e.g., ligament tears, fractures). 2. Presence of visual impairments that could compromise the effects of stroboscopic training (e.g., color blindness, visual field defects) or balance-related disorders (e.g., inner ear disease, vertigo). 3. Use of medications or functional supplements within the past three months that could influence athletic performance (e.g., steroids, antidepressants). 4. Consumption of stimulants during the study period, such as caffeine, energy drinks, or other substances that may affect cognition and reaction time. 5. Diagnosed mental or psychological health conditions that could impair training adherence (e.g., severe anxiety, depression, schizophrenia). 6. Known allergic reactions to any experimental equipment or devices used (e.g., force platforms, motion capture systems, electromyography sensors). 7. Pronounced fear or discomfort with the experimental environment or procedures, preventing proper participation in testing. 8. Presentation of any symptoms of infection or marked fatigue on testing days, which may confound the study results.
