Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Age >18 years; 2) Current or prior use of a central venous catheter (CVC) as vascular access for hemodialysis; 3) Catheter dysfunction, defined as pump-controlled blood flow 200 mmHg during hemodialysis; 4) Removal of CVC due to catheter-related infection or disuse; 5) Facial, ipsilateral chest/arm edema, or prominent venous collaterals on the chest/neck; 6) Other symptoms suspected to be associated with central venous obstruction.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Contraindications to SonoVue (ultrasound contrast agent), including: a) Allergy to SonoVue; b) Cardiac right-to-left shunts, severe pulmonary hypertension (PA pressure >90 mmHg), uncontrolled primary hypertension (BP >180/100 mmHg), or acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS); 2) NYHA Class IV heart failure with inability to tolerate supine positioning for examination; 3) Refusal to undergo contrast-enhanced ultrasound or DSA; 4) Time interval between ultrasound and DSA examinations exceeding 1 week.
