Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >= 18 years old; 2. Total length of ICU stay >= 24 hours; 3. APACHE II score >= 15 points; 4. Serum/plasma samples suitable for sST2 testing were collected within 24 hours of new-onset sepsis; 5. Availability of complete baseline clinical data (demographics, vital signs, underlying diseases) and key outcome data (60-day survival status, length of ICU stay, etc.); 1. Age >= 18 years old; 2. Met the diagnostic criteria for sepsis-3.0 at the time of ICU admission 3. New-onset sepsis occurred within 24 hours before ICU admission, with a total length of ICU stay >= 48 hours; 4. APACHE II score = 15 points; 5. For patients in the sepsis group (Group C), at least two serum/plasma samples suitable for sST2 testing were collected within 48 hours of disease onset (the first sample within 24 hours, and the second sample between 24 and 48 hours); 6. Availability of complete baseline clinical data (demographics, vital signs, underlying diseases) and key outcome data (60-day survival status, length of ICU stay, etc.);

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Death or discharge against medical advice within 24 hours of ICU admission. 2. Advanced-stage malignant tumor. 3. Patients with known chronic cardiac insufficiency (NYHA class III-IV) or recent (within 3 months) acute heart failure exacerbation.
