Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Clinical diagnosis of Genetic Generalized Epilepsy (GGE) according to the criteria of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) : presence of typical epileptic seizure manifestations and/or abnormal epileptiform discharges on electroencephalography (EEG), with seizure types consistent with the ILAE 2017 classification of epileptic seizures; 2.Age between 10 and 50 years; 3.Drug-naive epilepsy patients: newly diagnosed patients who have never taken antiepileptic drugs (AEDs), or who have discontinued all AEDs for at least one week prior to transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), or whose serum AED levels are negative; 4.Drug-resistant epilepsy: failure to achieve sustained seizure freedom after adequate trials of at least two or more antiepileptic medications, whether used as monotherapy or in combination; 5.Non-drug-resistant epilepsy patients: treatment with at least one antiepileptic drug, with no epileptic seizures for at least 12 months prior to enrollment; 6.Patients are able to cooperate with TMS-EEG and imaging examinations and have provided informed consent; 7.Right-handedness..

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Presence of a clear identifiable cause of epilepsy, such as cerebrovascular disease, brain tumor, traumatic brain injury, or central nervous system infection; 2.Presence of abnormal brain structural changes, such as vascular malformations, space-occupying lesions (e.g., tumors), toxic changes, inflammatory changes, etc.; 3.Contraindications to MRI scanning, such as implanted cardiac pacemakers, mechanical heart valves, cochlear implants, vagus nerve stimulators, or other metallic or electronic devices incompatible with MRI; 4.Contraindications to transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) , such as the presence of metal hardware in close proximity to the TMS coil, intracranial metal implants, or implanted electronic devices located within 10 cm of the TMS coil; 5.Subjects with psychiatric disorders (e.g., bipolar disorder, schizophrenia), a history of brain surgery, alcohol or substance dependence or abuse, or any other unstable medical condition; 6.Subject refusal to sign the informed consent form; 7.Patients with diabetes mellitus, and female subjects who are menstruating, pregnant, or breastfeeding.
