Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Han Chinese adults aged 18-80 years who meet the 2019 American Diabetes Association (ADA) diagnostic criteria for T2DM, specifically fasting blood glucose >=7.0 mmol/L, or 2-hour postprandial blood glucose >=11.1 mmol/L, or glycated hemoglobin >=6.5%, or random blood glucose >=11.1 mmol/L accompanied by typical diabetic symptoms. Additionally, they should have a disease duration of >=1 year and complete medical records.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, gestational diabetes, or secondary diabetes; 2. those with acute diabetic complications such as diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state; 3. those with severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, malignant tumors, severe hepatic or renal insufficiency, autoimmune diseases, or hematological disorders; 4. those who have used medications affecting glucose and lipid metabolism, such as glucocorticoids, within the past three months; 5. those with a history of eye trauma, glaucoma, cataract surgery, or other non-diabetic retinal diseases; 6. those with non-diabetic kidney diseases such as chronic nephritis or polycystic kidney disease; 7. and those who refuse to participate in the study or are unable to cooperate with relevant examinations.
