Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >=60 years; 2. Presence of depressive symptoms identified by scale screening (PHQ-9=5), with major depression excluded by a psychiatrist; 3. Normal cognitive function (MMSE>=27); 4. Expected to stay in current residence for 12 months.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Suicidal or self - harm intent (PHQ - 9 item 9 response of 1 - 3 indicates suicidal ideation); 2. Diagnosed with other mental disorders such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, or having a family history of mental disorders; 3. Diagnosed with neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, or epilepsy; 4. History of brain injury, alcohol or substance abuse; 5. Severe physical illness; 6. Unable to communicate via language or text.
