Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The overall inclusion criteria for the three groups (aMCI, naMCI, and normal controls) are as follows: (1) Age>=60 years old; (2) Right-handed, Han nationality, monolingual Mandarin; (3) Education level reaches primary school or higher; (4) Able to complete all neuropsychological tests and fNIRS cognitive paradigm tasks in this study; (5) In good physical condition, agree to participate in this study, and be able to provide written informed consent. The enrollment criteria for MCI patients and cognitively healthy elderly subjects are as follows: Inclusion criteria for the aMCI group: (1) Meet the diagnostic criteria for MCI set by Petersen's research group: 1. Patient or informed person reports cognitive impairment; 2. Objective evidence of impairment in one or more cognitive functional domains; 3. Normal general cognitive function; 4. Preserved ability to perform daily living; 5. Has not yet met the criteria for dementia; (2) The degree of memory decline is lower than or equal to 1.5 standard deviations of age- and culture-matched controls (evidence using Auditory Memory Test-Huashan (AVLT-H) long delayed recall scores). The specific manifestations are: 60~69 years old, AVLT-H long delayed recall score <=3 points; Over 70 years old, AVLT-H long delayed recall score <=2 points. Inclusion criteria for the naMCI group: (1) Meet the diagnostic criteria for MCI set by Petersen's research group (as previously mentioned); (2) Performance on any non-memory domain neuropsychological test (Wired Test B, VFT, Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test) below or equal to 1.5 standard deviations of the age- and culture-matched control. Inclusion Criteria for the Cognitive Health Group: (1) No self or informant reported cognitive impairment; (2) Neuropsychological test scores within the normal range.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria for the three groups of people are as follows: 1. Those with major audiovisual deficits or impairments, or those who cannot understand and communicate normally, and cannot meet the needs of assessment; 2. Medical diagnosis of AD and other types of dementia; 3. History of neuropsychiatric diseases (such as cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain surgery, encephalitis, Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia, anxiety or depression, etc.), as well as diseases of the heart, liver, kidney, hematopoietic system and endocrine system that seriously affect cognitive function; 4. Medications that may affect cognitive function (cholinesterase inhibitors, cognitive enhancers, or neurotrophics, etc.) in the past 6 months.
