Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age >=18 years; Mitral valve disease of rheumatic or other etiology meeting the surgical indications for mitral valve replacement; Atrial fibrillation (AF) as defined by the 2016 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines; Absence of concurrent cardiac diseases.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients requiring surgical intervention for valvular lesions other than mitral valve disease; Patients with coronary artery disease necessitating concurrent coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG); Patients with preoperative infective endocarditis, malignant tumors, or at risk of organ failure.
