Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >=18 years; 2. Ability to understand and complete all questionnaire assessments; 3. Signed written informed consent; 4. Meet one of the following group criteria: Group A: Diabetes-only group – Diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, with a disease duration >=1 year, and no moderate or severe chronic pain in the past 3 months (NRS =3, lasting >=3 months) without a history of diabetes. Pain type (neuropathic, non-neuropathic, mixed, or uncertain) will be recorded based on medical history and specialist evaluation. Group C: Combined group (diabetes + chronic pain) – Meet diagnostic criteria for both type 2 diabetes and chronic pain (NRS >=3, lasting >=3 months), with pain type recorded as above.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. History of major neurological conditions such as moderate-to-severe Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, or stroke; 2. Diagnosed psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, or bipolar disorder; 3. Long-term use of sedatives, hypnotics, antiepileptic drugs, or psychiatric medications; 4. Unable or unwilling to participate in the study.
