Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Study populations were identified using the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9 and ICD-10) codes. All participants in this study were admitted to the ICU for comorbid osteoarthritis, regardless of the primary reason for their stay. Included subjects were those with at least one knee affected by osteoarthritis and confirmed critical illness requiring ICU admission.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Presence of infectious osteoarthritis; 2. Subjects diagnosed with OA at unspecified joints; 3. No leg was diagnosed with OA.
