Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 18–70 years; 2. Diagnosed with UWS and MCS based on the CRS-R scale; 3. Disease duration >= 28 days; 4. Causes include ischaemic-hypoxic encephalopathy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, etc.; 5. Right-handed individuals.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Individuals with a history of other neurological or psychiatric disorders prior to coma; 2. Individuals who have undergone cranial bone flap removal or repair surgery, or have implanted neural stimulators; 3. Individuals taking medications that affect cortical excitability; 4. Individuals with uncontrollable epilepsy or involuntary movements; 5. Individuals with severe visual or hearing impairments, unable to complete event-related potential testing or exhibiting ‘brain-computer interface non-response’; 6. Family members refuse to sign the informed consent form.
