Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Age: Adult patients (aged >= 18 years). (2) Diagnosis: According to the Berlin definition, diagnosed with moderate to severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). (3) Mechanical ventilation requirement: The patient is on invasive mechanical ventilation. (4) Oxygenation disorder: With protective strategy mechanical ventilation support, the PaO2/FiO2 ratio<= 150. (5) Duration of illness: Treatment begins within 24 hours after the diagnosis of ARDS.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Allergy history: Known allergy to nitric oxide or any of the auxiliary drugs used in the study. (2) Heart disease: Presence of uncontrolled left ventricular dysfunction or severe arrhythmia. (3) Pulmonary disorders: Recently undergone major lung surgery or diagnosed with pulmonary embolism. (4) Expected survival period: Expected survival period due to other medical conditions is less than 48 hours. (5) Pregnant or lactating women. (6) Participation in other clinical trials: Currently participating in other clinical trials that may interfere with the assessment of the results of this study.
