Schizophrenia

Interventions

A:On the basis of antipsychotic drug treatment, a 4-week period of table tennis exercise was carried out, twice a week, for 1 hour each time.
B:On the basis of antipsychotic drug treatment, traditional Chinese calligraphy activities were carried out concurrently for 4 weeks, twice a week, each session lasting 1 hour.
C:Received treatment with existing antipsychotic drugs for 4 weeks, restricted participation in any structured recreational activities, and only received routine ward medical care.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) The current diagnosis conforms to the ICD-10 diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia (ICD-10: F20); (2) Inpatients aged 18 to 60 years old; (3) Voluntary participation, with patients and their families signing the informed consent form; (4) Right-handed, with individuals possessing certain physical coordination and motor abilities; (5) Individuals have the ability to think and write Chinese characters.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Currently, there are severe or unstable organic diseases of the body/neurological system, such as developmental delay, dementia, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, severe heart disease, musculoskeletal system disorders or other diseases that affect motor ability; (2) Comorbid with other Axis I mental disorders (such as bipolar disorder, substance dependence); (3) Patients with cognitive, communication disorders or unable to cooperate in completing physical activities; (4) Currently, there are patients with obvious suicidal, self-harming, aggressive, injuring others, destroying property, wandering outside the home behaviors or risks that require restrictive measures; (5) Currently receiving other physical therapy or psychological therapy; (6) In addition to antipsychotic drug treatment, other antidepressants or mood stabilizers are also being used in combination.
