Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Middle-aged adults (40-64 years old); 2. Participants will be classified as prediabetic according to the American Diabetes Association diagnostic criteria, which include a threshold value in fasting glucose (5.6–6.9 mmol/L), 2-hour glucose tolerance test (7.8–11.0 mmol/L), or HbA1C (5.7%–6.4%); 3. Physically inactive: less than 3 days of 30-minute moderate-intensity PA per week.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Individuals diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes; 2. Severe health issues known to affect mobility, such as neurologic diseases, musculoskeletal disorders, or autoimmune diseases; 3. Use of specific medications: Individuals currently using medications that affect blood glucose control (such as insulin, certain oral hypoglycemic agents, or steroids); 4. Pregnancy or lactation; 5. Individuals with recent participation in structured exercise or dietary interventions (within 3 months).
