Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.The inclusion criteria are as follows: subjects must be at least 18 years of age; 2.diabetes mellitus must be the primary diagnosis, in accordance with the WHO diagnostic criteria; 3.subjects must not have received any treatment at the time of inclusion; 4.and an ultrasound examination must have been conducted within the specified time frame.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.The following criteria were used to determine exclusion from the study: the presence of comorbidities associated with other peripheral neuropathies; 2.patients with secondary abnormalities of glucose metabolism; 3.a previous history of surgery at the site of examination; 4.injury or oedema of the skin in the area of the examination; 5.poor quality of the images, which could not be used for analysis.
