12 Years to 18 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Malocclusion meets the diagnostic criteria specified in the 7th edition of Orthodontics. (2) Aged between 12 and 18 years. (3) Patients undergoing treatment with self-ligating fixed brackets for both dentitions. (4) Duration of wearing fixed appliances = 3 months. (5) Voluntarily participate in this study and agree to receive interventions of the self-management program on schedule. (6) Have basic oral self-care ability and can complete the periodontal care required in the intervention program.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Patients with oral diseases that severely affect periodontal health (such as severe periodontitis). (2) Patients taking long-term medications that may affect oral health (such as immunosuppressants). (3) Patients unable to participate in intervention sessions on schedule or lacking cooperation during the process. (4) Patients using lingual fixed appliances or having switched between multiple orthodontic appliances. (5) Patients undergoing simultaneous orthognathic surgery.
