Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Basic conditions (1) Age >=50 years old, long-term residence in the Lido Garden community (>=6 months); (2) Voluntarily sign the informed consent form and be able to understand and cooperate with the study process; 2. Health status (1)Possess basic independent mobility (e.g. can walk 10 meters independently without assistance); (2) Baseline balance ability fulfillment: Berg Balance Scale (BBS) score >=40/56; (3) Cognitive baseline satisfaction: Simple Mental State Examination (MMSE) score >=24, Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale (MoCA) score >=18 (adjusted according to education level); 3. Exercise and lifestyle habits (1) No regular participation in Tai Chi, softball or other systematic exercise (<=1 time per week) in the last 6 months; (2) No contraindications to exercise as assessed by a physician and suitable for low to moderate intensity exercise.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe cardiovascular diseases (e.g. unstable angina, myocardial infarction within the last 6 months), neurological diseases (e.g. Parkinson's disease, post-stroke sequelae), bone and joint diseases (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis in active stage); 2. Fracture or undergoing orthopedic surgery within the past 6 months, which affects the ability to exercise; 3. Diagnosed dementia (e.g. Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia) or mental illness (e.g. major depression, schizophrenia); 4, Severe visual or auditory impairment that prevents comprehension of instructions or completion of gait analysis tests; 5, Long-term use of medications that affect balance or cognition (e.g., benzodiazepines, anticholinergics); 6, Participation in other exercise intervention studies within the last 3 months, or planning to be away from home for an extended period of time during the study; 7, Inability to guarantee =80% intervention attendance or refusal to cooperate with the testing process.
