Low-dose group:Take metformin at 1500 mg/day for 36 weeks
High-dose group:Take 2500 mg/day metformin for 36 weeks

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Subjects must meet the diagnostic criteria for mental disorders (including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc.) in ICD-10, and the diagnosis will be re-verified by two psychiatric attending physicians; The course of the disease >=6 months, and antipsychotic medication has been used for at least 2 months prior to enrollment; 2. BMI>24, WC>=80cm or >=90cm; 3. Age 18-65 years old; 4. The condition was stable in the past 1 month, and the Clinical Efficacy Global Rating Scale-Severity (CGI-S) score was <=3 points; 5. Voluntarily participate in this experiment

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Combined with tumors, chronic renal failure and other serious physical diseases; 2. Fasting blood glucose concentration> 6.1mmol/L; Systolic blood pressure level (SBP) > 180mmHg; Diastolic blood pressure level (DBP) > 110 mmHg; or serum triglyceride level >5.65 mmol/L; 3. Have a birth plan in the past six months; 4. Allergy to metformin; 5. Liver function tests show serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) or serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels higher than twice the normal range; 6. Renal function tests show blood urea nitrogen (BUN) or creatinine levels higher than twice the normal limit; 7. Refusal to participate in the experiment
