Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Criteria for suspected bacterial meningitis in children, in line with the improved classification criteria for surveillance cases of bacterial meningitis of the World Health Organization (WHO) : 1. Age: >= 29 days and =38?) and or the following clinical manifestations: headache, changes in consciousness, refusal to nurse, vomiting, irritability, drowsiness, low muscle tone, convulsions, bulging or protrusion of the anterior fontanelle, and one or more clinical symptoms and signs of meningitis; 4. One of the following two situations occurs: Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leukocytes count >100 cells /ml; or 10 cells /ml 100mg/dl; Criteria for suspected encephalitis in children: 1. Age: >= 29 days and =15 per ml;
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Bloody cerebrospinal fluid; 2.The volume of cerebrospinal fluid <1ml; 3.Children who refuse to be enrolled for various reasons.
