Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Acute ischemic stroke confirmed with magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography; 2.Age of 18 years or older; 3.Admission within 7 days of symptom onset;
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Active infection within 2 weeks before admission (for the outcome of stroke-associated infection); 2.Duration of hospitalization = 2 days (for the outcome of stroke-associated infection); 3.History of depression, premorbid cognitive decline, and other neuropsychiatric disorders (for the outcomes of post-stroke depression and post-stroke cognitive impairment); 4.Communication problems due to aphasia, severe dysarthria, disturbance of understanding or consciousness (for the outcomes of post-stroke depression and post-stroke cognitive impairment); 5.Pre-stroke modified Rankin scale score of >2 (for the outcome of adverse clinical outcomes after ischemic stroke); 6.Ongoing cancer treatment or use of immunosuppressant or immunomodulator (for the outcomes of stroke-associated infection, post-stroke depression, post-stroke cognitive impairment and adverse clinical outcomes after ischemic stroke); 7.Unable to complete the follow-up (for the outcomes of stroke-associated infection, post-stroke depression, post-stroke cognitive impairment and adverse clinical outcomes after ischemic stroke);
