Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Part 1: Participants from two NHANES cycles (2007–2010) were included. Part 2: Demographic information, depression status, and sleep characteristics of chronic constipation patients with a disease duration of >=6 months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Part 1: Exclusion Criteria (1) Missing data on chronic constipation, sleep, or depression scores; (2) Participants aged <20 years. Part 2: Exclusion Criteria (1) Patients with a pre-existing diagnosis of psychiatric disorders before chronic constipation was identified; (2) Incomplete questionnaires on constipation, sleep, or depression; (3) Participants with unclear self-reported symptoms or poor compliance during the survey; (4) Individuals aged <20 years.
