Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Sepsis: Patients were clinically diagnosed with sepsis based on symptoms, signs, and clinical biochemical indicators, with confirmed bacterial infection by microbiological testing and clinical manifestations consistent with sepsis. 2.Non-sepsis: Severe patients without clinical evidence of bacterial infection or microbiologically confirmed absence of bacterial pathogens.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Concurrent primary infections at other sites or confirmed infections with non-bacterial pathogens. 2.Patients with malignancies or other immunocompromising conditions that may confound the study outcomes were excluded.
