Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The subjects of this study were 90 adolescents with symptomatic partner NSSI and their families. The following criteria were used to ensure the suitability of the participants, the reliability of the data, and the safety of the experiment: 1. Age range of adolescents: 12-18 years old, in the stage of puberty. Diagnostic Criteria: Previous hospital diagnosis of mild to moderate depressive symptoms with clear NSSI behaviours. . Communication Skills: current language expression and communication without barriers, ability to understand and participate in intervention activities, and ensure that the youth can effectively participate in DBT skills training. Psychological Characteristics: Basic reflective skills, i.e. the ability to be aware of one's own emotional state and behavioural responses during the intervention process, and to understand and cooperate with the therapist's guidance. Willingness to participate: The adolescents must participate in the study voluntarily, fully understand the content, objectives, and methods of the intervention, follow the randomised grouping, and sign the informed consent form together with their guardians. 2. Parents' willingness to participate: Parents should fully understand the content of the study, comply with the randomised grouping, voluntarily participate in the family DBT skills training, and attend the relevant courses and activities on time during the intervention period. Language and comprehension: Parents should have good communication skills, be able to understand the content of the DBT training, and be willing to practice the learnt skills with their adolescents in their daily life. Psychological stability: Parents should not have serious mental health problems, e.g. no major mental or psychological illnesses, and should be able to provide the youth with emotional support and a favourable environment for family interaction.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Presence of severe suicidal ideation or recent severe suicidal/self-injurious behaviour; co-morbid personality disorders, developmental disorders, or severe mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc.).
