Acute sarcopenia: EWGSOP2 defines sarcopenia with a duration of less than 6 months as acute sarcopenia, which is usually associated with an acute illness or injury. The diagnosis of acute sarcopenia should be based on two prerequisites: (1) acute stress triggers (such as acute disease, surgery, trauma, burn, etc.)

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >=18 in ICU; 2. Expected hospital stay > 3 days; 3. Abdominal CT examination within 2 days of admission; 4. Informed consent of patients or family members. The inclusion criteria for the cross-sectional study part are the same as above.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. sarcopenia was present at the time of admission to ICU; 2. Study patients with lateral limb amputation and patients who have received lower limb orthopaedic surgery; 3. Patients with injuries (such as fractures and burns) in the study area that cannot be measured; 4. Patients who cannot meet the requirements of ultrasonic measurement positions due to disease. The exclusion criteria for the cross-sectional study part are the same as above.
