Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. age > 18 years old; 2. patients with type I respiratory failure requiring high-flow or noninvasive ventilation; 3. Informed consent was obtained;

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with a history of neuromuscular disease, chronic pulmonary disease (e.g., moderate-to-severe restrictive or obstructive pulmonary disease), and cardiac or thoracic surgery; 2. Hypoxemia patients with emergency tracheal intubation; 3. Complicated with type II respiratory failure; 4. Patients who had received high-flow or non-invasive ventilation before admission. Patients with severe heart disease (such as severe heart failure, aortic valve stenosis, etc); 5. The quality of ultrasound images was poor, and the main data could not be obtained.
