Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: These include a diagnosis of MetS and age 18 to 65 years, glycosylated hemoglobin = 90 cm for men and > = 80 cm for women, plus any two of the following 4 factors: 1. Elevated triglyceride (TG) level >=1.7 mmol/L, or have received special treatment for this lipid abnormality; 2. Decreased levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C): 1.03 mmol/L =130mmHg or diastolic blood pressure >=85mmHg, or has been previously diagnosed with hypertension for treatment; 4. Elevated fasting blood glucose: fasting blood glucose (FBG) >=5.6mmol/L, or has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: These include pregnancy, lactation, severe heart disease, severe liver disease (except fatty liver), malnutrition, heavy smoking, substance abuse, cancer, or any serious systemic illness.
