Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed with cataracts at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University and requires cataract surgery treatment; 2. Divided into the following three groups: (1) Patients with cataracts but no diabetes; (2) Patients with cataracts and diabetes but no obvious diabetic retinopathy; (3) Patients with cataracts and diabetic retinopathy; 3. Voluntarily participate in this study and sign the informed consent form for the project.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Current or past chronic gastrointestinal diseases and systemic infectious diseases (such as acute pneumonia, uveitis); 2. Subjects who have received antibiotic treatment or probiotic supplementation in the past 1-3 months; 3. Presence of cancer, autoimmune diseases, or severe liver and kidney dysfunction, or a history of the above diseases; 4. Patients with ocular trauma, ocular inflammation, or combined other vitreoretinal diseases, such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, etc.; 5. History of eye surgery or fundus laser treatment within the past 6 months.
