Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1)Meets Western medical diagnostic criteria for Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) (2)Concurrently satisfies Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnostic criteria for "Yuzheng" (depression syndrome) (3)Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA) score: >= 14 but = 50 but <70;Clinically classified as mild-to-moderate severity (4)Aged 18–65 years (inclusive) (5)No use of antianxiety medications or psychoactive drugs within 4 weeks prior to enrollment (6)Voluntary participation with a signed informed consent form
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Anxiety secondary to physical diseases such as hyperthyroidism, hypertension, and coronary heart disease was excluded; (2) Exclusion of excessive stimulant drugs, withdrawal reactions of hypnotic sedative drugs and anxiolytic drugs after discontinuation of anti-anxiety drugs for less than four weeks; (3) Patients with anxiety associated with other psychoses, such as panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias, hypochondriasis, neurasthenia, mania, depression, schizophrenia, were excluded; (4) lactating and pregnant women were excluded; (5) Patients with unstable vital signs were excluded; (6) Patients with unconsciousness, aphasia and cognitive impairment were excluded. Those who met one of these criteria were excluded.
