Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy based on clinical manifestations, supplemented by long-term video EEG, MRI, or PET-CT, according to the 2017 ILAE classification of seizures and epilepsy syndromes; (2) Aged 16-60 years, with an education level of primary school or above; (3) Determined to be right-handed according to the Chinese handedness assessment standard.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Presence of underlying causes of epilepsy, such as cerebrovascular disease, brain tumors, traumatic brain injury, infectious diseases of the central nervous system, etc.; (2) Suffering from neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia; (3) Presence of brain white matter lesions unrelated to vascular disease, such as those caused by immune abnormalities, demyelinating diseases, metabolic abnormalities, toxic changes, infection, and other factors; (4) Presence of contraindications for MRI scanning, such as implanted pacemakers, mechanical heart valves, cochlear implants, etc.; (5) History of being diagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia according to DSM-IV diagnostic criteria, or a history of alcohol or drug dependence or abuse.
