Control Group:Receive regular activity therapy (e.g., singing, painting, and physical activity)
Control Group two:Receiving a placebo intervention to control for psychological effects
Test Group:Conducting innovative play therapy based on the foundations of occupational therapy

65 Years to 90 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. participants must be at least 65 years old; 2. participants must be able to communicate in Mandarin; 3. participants must score > 15 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). Exclusion criteria included individuals showing severe dementia, severe depression, or those unable to communicate; 4. participants must score > 40 on the Modified Barthel Index (MBI).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with severe functional impairments, obvious life dependencies, or complete life dependencies were excluded.
