Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients were diagnosed with primary gout based on the 1977 American College of Rheumatology (ACR) criteria, all participants were assessed for bone mineral density (BMD) and bone metabolism markers.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) experienced a gout flare within 2 weeks before enrollment; (2) had a history of malignancies, autoimmune diseases, thyroid disorders, or organ dysfunction/failure (defined as an estimated glomerular filtration rate [eGFR] 2.5 times the upper limit of normal [ULN]); (3) used urate-lowering drugs or other medications affecting serum urate levels within the past 3 months; (4) took medications influencing bone metabolism, such as bisphosphonates, systemic glucocorticoids, or hormonal therapies.
