Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1 First-episode or relapsed schizophrenia (SCZ) patients who have not received systematic treatment and meet the ICD-10 diagnostic criteria for SCZ; 2 Hospitalized at Peking University Sixth Hospital between May 2024 and November 2025; 3 Aged 18 years or older, with at least one guardian providing care within the past year; 4 Of Han Chinese ethnicity; 5 No anticipated issues related to relocation, transportation difficulties, or access to medical care during the study period; 6 Informed consent obtained from both the patient and their guardian, with signed consent forms.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1 Presence of physical illnesses such as cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases, hypertension, diabetes, or physical disabilities during baseline hospitalization; 2 Presence of any of the following cardiovascular risk factors during baseline hospitalization: fasting low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) >= 4.1 mmol/L or use of lipid-lowering medications; fasting blood glucose >= 6.1 mmol/L or use of glucose-lowering medications; systolic blood pressure >= 140 mmHg or use of antihypertensive medications; 3 Use of antipsychotic medications known to cause hypotensive side effects; 4 Comorbidity with other severe psychiatric disorders, intellectual disability, dementia, or significant cognitive impairment; 5 History of acute dystonia, epilepsy, or febrile convulsions; 6 History of suicide attempts or presence of agitation or excitement symptoms; 7 Severe hepatic or renal dysfunction; 8 Contraindications to antipsychotic treatment; 9 Currently pregnant or breastfeeding; 10 Participation in any interventional clinical trial during baseline hospitalization or follow-up period.
