Recurrent Low Back Pain

Interventions

MMFES group:Received 15 minutes of modulated mid-frequency electrical stimulation
MCE group:Received 15 minutes of sham-modulated intermediate frequency electrical stimulation intervention and 30 minutes of motor control training
COMB group:Received a 15-minute modulated mid-frequency electrical stimulation intervention followed by 30 minutes of motor control training

18 Years to 40 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) between the ages of 18 and 40 years; (2) a history of recurrent low back pain with at least two episodes interfering with activities of daily living; (3) an abnormal movement pattern during active forward bending; and (4) an average straight-leg raising angle of greater than 90 degrees for the passive right and left legs.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) clinical signs of systemic disease; (2) definite neurologic signs (e.g., pain, weakness, or numbness in the lower extremities); (3) history of spinal surgery; (4) diagnosis of osteoporosis, severe spinal stenosis, or arthritis; (5) BMI greater than 30 kg/m²; and (6) participation in treatment for other conditions that may affect this test.
