Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Age >= 18 years old; (2) Patients scheduled for elective cardiac surgery under general anesthesia with tracheal intubation and extracorporeal circulation; (3) ASA grades II to IV; (4) Proficient in communicating in Chinese; (5) Patients or their family members have agreed to participate in this study and have signed the informed consent form;

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Patients with previous mental/neurological disorders, such as depression, severe central nervous system inhibition, schizophrenia, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease or Alzheimer's disease, etc.; (2) Patients who cannot undergo cognitive tests due to hearing impairment, visual impairment or dementia; (3) Preoperative cognitive dysfunction, defined as a total score of MMSE lower than the cutoff value corresponding to the educational level: illiterate 6 years) <= 23 points; (4) Patients who routinely used psychotropic drugs, opioid drugs, etc. before the operation; (5) Patients with preoperative conditions such as delirium, coma or dementia that affect normal communication; (6) Patients with a history of alcohol abuse or withdrawal in the past 6 months; (7) Patients taking drugs containing related trace elements (such as oral zinc supplements); (8) Patients currently participating in other clinical trials; (9) Patients scheduled to undergo 2 surgeries within 7 days after the operation;
