Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients scheduled for general anesthesia for high ligation and stripping of the great saphenous vein; no underlying heart or lung diseases; no recent fever or cold, and no coagulation dysfunction; normal intelligence quotient (IQ) and hearing; no peripheral arterial vascular disease.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with preoperative upper respiratory tract infection or other hyperreactive airway states; patients with severe cardiopulmonary diseases.
