Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Cleared for physical activity as assessed by the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q; Thomas et al., 1992). 2. Reported engaging in leisure-time exercise fewer than three times per week based on the Godin Leisure-Time Exercise Questionnaire (GLTEQ; Godin & Shephard, 1997), with no participation in systematic training programs for a minimum of three months preceding data collection. 3. Aged 18-35 years, willing to adhere to a thrice-weekly repeated sprint interval training protocol, and capable of maintaining active research participation throughout the study duration.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Presence of lower extremity musculoskeletal injuries within the preceding 3 months; 2. Any limb, soft tissue, orthopedic, or vascular pathology contraindicated for blood flow restriction (BFR) training (e.g., peripheral vascular disease); 3. Prior participation in BFR-related research; 4. Diagnosis of cardiovascular or metabolic diseases, systemic hypertension (resting blood pressure >=140/90 mmHg or antihypertensive medication use); 5. Current use of any dietary supplements or self-reported smoking status (exclusion of smokers); 6. Female participants with irregular menstrual cycles (clinically defined as cycle variability >7 days or cycles 35 days).
