Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients who sign an informed consent form and are willing to complete the study according to the protocol; 2) Age greater than 18 years; 3) ASA classification I or II; 4) Scheduled surgery; 5) General anesthesia; 6) Endotracheal intubation.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) The pathological condition of the carotid vessels, with preoperative carotid ultrasound excluding abnormalities including plaques, stenosis, and anatomical variations; 2) Patients with a body mass index (BMI) 30 kg/m^2 ; 3) Patients with non-sinus rhythm; 4) History of arrhythmia, cardiomyopathy, or heart valve disease; 5) Heart failure with left ventricular ejection fraction <50%; 6) Pulmonary hypertension; 7) Peripheral artery disease or atherosclerosis; 8) History of neck surgery or trauma; 9) Sudden acute conditions threatening vital signs preoperatively; 10) Patients with implanted cardiac pacemakers; 11) Patients with secondary hypertension; 12) Chronic kidney disease; 13) Patients with difficult ultrasound measurement, sustained blood pressure over 180/110 mmHg, unexpected difficult airway; 14) Patients refusing to participate in the trial.
