18 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 18-65 years; 2. Is capable of giving informed consent; 3. Meet ICD-10 diagnostic criteria of mood disorders or schizophrenia; 4. Living in second-tier ward for at least 5 days.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. A current or past history of personality disorder, mental retardation, or organic mental disorder; 2. A current diagnosis of substance abuse or dependence; 3. Pregnant or breastfeeding women 4. Presence of eye disease: e.g. retinal blindness, severe cataract, glaucoma; 5. Currently receiving any medication(s) that may affect circadian rhythm (e.g., melatonin); 6. Night Shift worker or trans-meridian flight in the past 3 months and during study; 7. Significant medical condition/hearing impairment/speech or motor deficit; 8. Serious risk for self-harm or aggressive behaviors; 9. Currently under ECT treatment.
