Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria for this study required participants to be at least 65 years old, with an ASA Grade II–III classification, and a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 30 kg/m². These parameters ensured that the sample consisted of elderly patients with a range of mild to moderate systemic conditions, providing a clinically relevant population for the research.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria were strictly enforced to ensure patient safety and the reliability of results. Patients with severe cardiopulmonary disease (such as acute heart failure, recent myocardial infarction, severe obstructive sleep apnea, or acute respiratory infections), significant hepatic or renal dysfunction, or severe neurological or psychiatric disorders (including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or cognitive dysfunction) were excluded. Additionally, participants with known allergies to benzodiazepines, opioids, propofol, egg products, or soy, as well as those with a history of alcoholism or addiction to opioids or sedatives, were also excluded.
