Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients undergoing elective non-cardiac surgery under general anesthesia at the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University between March 2025 and May 2025, with complete clinical data available. 2.Aged >=65 years, regardless of gender, ASA physical status II–III, and BMI 18–25 kg/m^2. 3.Preoperative Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score >=24, with both anxiety and depression subscale scores =6 years. 5.Expected postoperative hospital stay >=3 days. 6.Approved by the hospital’s Ethics Committee, with written informed consent obtained from all participants.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with a history of traumatic brain injury or severe central nervous system disorders. 2.Patients with severe hearing/visual impairment, communication difficulties, physical disabilities, or inability to complete the assessments. 3.Patients with preoperative cognitive impairment, dementia, psychiatric disorders (or predisposition), or recent use of antipsychotic medications. 4.Patients undergoing emergency surgery. 5.Patients scheduled for ICU admission preoperatively. 6.Patients unable to comprehend the informed consent form or unwilling to participate in the study.
