Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients scheduled for elective surgery under general anesthesia were enrolled, regardless of gender, aged 18–65 years, with a body mass index (BMI) of 15–30 kg/m^2, and classified as American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I or II.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded if they met any of the following conditions: systolic blood pressure >160 mmHg, pre-existing or newly identified carotid artery stenosis >50%, history of peripheral vascular disease or atherosclerosis, non-sinus cardiac rhythm, cardiac valvular disease, left ventricular ejection fraction <50%, right ventricular dysfunction, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or chronic pulmonary hypertension.
