Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This study enrolled elderly patients with diabetes mellitus and mild cognitive impairment (DM-MCI) from the endocrinology outpatient clinic and inpatient department. The inclusion criteria were: (1) subjective memory complaints confirmed by both patients and family members; (2) objective evidence of MCI based on MMSE scores (illiterate: 18-21, primary education: 21-24, junior high school or above: 25-27) and GDS rating of 2-3; (3) mild functional decline demonstrated by IADL assessment; (4) symptom duration >=3 months; and (5) not meeting dementia criteria (CDR=2).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: People with vascular dementia or other causes of dementia have disorders that interfere with cognitive tests, such as aphasia, severe auditory and visual impairments, difficulties in verbal communication, or have a history of mental disorders.
