Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.MDD Enrollment Criteria (All 6 criteria must be met): (1) Aged 18 - 65 years old (including 18 and 65 years old), regardless of gender; (2) Meeting the diagnostic criteria for depression in the DSM-5 without psychotic symptoms: (3) HAMD-17 score >= 14; (4) No MECT treatment within the 2 weeks prior to enrollment.; (5) Ability to understand the content of the scale and speech patterns; ( 6) Signing a written informed consent form by the individual. 2.Enrollment Criteria for Healthy Subjects (All 4 criteria must be met): (1) Aged 18 - 65 years old (including 18 and 65 years old), with no gender restrictions.; (2) HAMD-17 score < 7; (3) Ability to understand the content of the scale and speech patterns; (4) The subject signs a written informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.MDD Exclusion Criteria (Exclusion applies if any one of the following criteria is met): (1) Meeting the diagnostic criteria for mental disorders in the DSM-5 such as intellectual disability, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorders, and other mental disorders secondary to other diseases; (2) Having visual impairments, currently suffering from diseases of the oral cavity or pharynx, and other serious physical illnesses; (3) Having a history of alcohol or psychoactive substance abuse or dependence within the past year; (4) Exhibiting overly severe mental symptoms, making it difficult to cooperate and complete the research tasks. 2.Exclusion Criteria for Healthy Subjects (Exclusion applies if any one of the following criteria is met): (1) Meeting the diagnostic criteria for any mental disorder in the DSM-5; (2) Having visual impairments, currently suffering from diseases of the oral cavity or pharynx, and other serious physical illnesses; (3) Having a history of alcohol or psychoactive substance abuse or dependence within the past year. 4) Having other conditions that the researchers consider unsuitable for enrollment.
