Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients diagnosed with diabetes mellitus according to the 1999 WHO diagnostic criteria; 2. Aged >=60 years and <80 years; 3. Participants must be capable of providing informed consent, able to comply with the study protocol’s restrictions and requirements, and deemed by the investigator as likely to complete the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with confirmed nasal disorders (including rhinitis, moderate-to-severe asthma, nasopharyngeal tumors, or nasal deformities); 2. Patients with diagnosed olfactory dysfunction disorders (including intracranial tumors or head trauma affecting olfaction); 3. Patients with psychiatric disorders; 4. History of recent upper respiratory tract infection (within the past 4 weeks); 5. Current use of medications that may interfere with olfactory testing (e.g., antihistamines, antidepressants, etc.); 6. Any other condition deemed by the investigator as ineligible for participation in this clinical study.
