Knee Osteoarthritis

Interventions

Experimental group:Health education, extracorporeal shock wave therapy, and myofascial release therapy, once a week, for four consecutive weeks.
Control group:Health education and extracorporeal shock wave therapy, once a week, for four consecutive weeks.
Control group:Health education and muscle-taping therapy will be conducted once a week for four weeks.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age: 45 - 75 years old; 2. Meet the diagnostic criteria of KOA; 3. Before treatment, imaging examination was conducted on the affected knee joint. X-ray indicated K-L classification of I-III levels, moderate narrowing of joint space, and stage of early to mid-stage. 4. Affected on the knee joint, and the pain degree was = 4 points according to the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS); 5. Within the past 1 month, no other treatment methods were received; 6. The patient voluntarily accepted the treatment methods related to this study and voluntarily signed the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Not meeting the diagnostic criteria for KOA; 2. HAMD scale score > 17 points, patients with depression; 3. Those who did not cooperate with the treatment as per the trial regulations; 4. BMI value >= 28 kg/m^2; 5. Those intolerant to shock waves; those allergic to adhesive tape; 6. Those with autoimmune diseases or coagulation disorders; 7. Those with a history of knee joint surgery and knee joint pain caused by other diseases (gout, knee joint synovitis); 8. Those with a history of Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy, stroke, etc. affecting the muscle tone throughout the body; 9. Those taking drugs that may affect muscle tone (phenothiazine drugs; butyrophenone drugs); 10. Those with other skin diseases such as soft tissue ulcers, abrasions, scars, etc. at the measurement points; 11. Special populations: pregnant or lactating women, patients with mental disorders, patients with cognitive impairment, patients with Alzheimer's disease;
