Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Meeting the 1995 American College of Rheumatology clinical criteria for the diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis. 2.The knee joint imaging Kellgren- Lawrence grade is diagnosed as II or III. 3.Aged between 45 and 65 years old. 4.Knee pain has persisted for at least 3 months. 5.The visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain is between 2 and 6 points and Body mass index (BMI) is less than 28 kg/m^2. 6.Able to communicate normally and has the ability to sign the informed consent form. 7.Can undergo acupuncture treatment after the physical health condition is evaluated by the researcher.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with a history of knee replacement surgery or those waiting for knee replacement surgery. 2.Knee pain caused by other diseases (such as rheumatic arthritis or gout). 3.Those who have had arthroscopic examination within the past 1 year or received intra-articular injection treatment of the knee joint within the past 6 months. 4.Those who have received acupuncture treatment for this disease within the past 3 months. 5.Patients with severe acute or chronic organic diseases (such as malignant tumors, sequelae of stroke, autoimmune diseases) or mental illnesses (schizophrenia, depression), coagulation disorders, metal allergies or fear of needles, pregnant women or lactating women. 6.Those who have participated in other clinical trial studies as subjects within the last 3 months. 7.Having other circumstances that are not suitable for participating in the study (such as frequently changing the place of residence, etc.).
